Nine months before the start of the 5. European Universities Games, it’s time to say – welcome to Belgrade in 2021! The corona virus pandemic paralyzed the world in 2020 and made us postpone all our plans, desires and dreams for a while. We have rescheduled it, but with even greater motivation, we are announcing a period in which we will work to achieve what we promised – to make the best and biggest Games so far!

As of today, October 1st, all together, the organizing team of the 5. European Universities Games and partners from EUSA are officially focusing to the year 2021.

All our internal and external communication, visuals and all promotional activities leave 2020 behind and put the emphasis on # EUG2021

We all hope that after Cordoba, Rotterdam, Zagreb, Rijeka and Coimbra, the best students – athletes from all over Europe will spend an unforgettable two weeks in the capital of Serbia next July.

Belgrade and Serbia, as proven organizers of the largest international sports competitions in recent decades, are looking forward to the biggest sporting event in Europe next year, which will bring over 5,000 young people from 400 universities from 40 European countries to the shore of the Danube and Sava rivers.

Competitions in 21 sports are a challenge facing a team that wants to set new standards when it comes to organizing the European Universities Games.

It will be a real opportunity to promote the most important values that sport brings – a healthy lifestyle, fair play, solidarity and unbreakable friendships that only youth can bring. In addition to sports competitions, an important part of every event under the EUSA auspices are accompanying educational and cultural events that should contribute to strengthening ties within the European academic community and understanding sport as a vital part of educating young people.

See you at the EUG 2021 from July 14 to 27. The countdown has begun.
