February 15th is the second deadline for registering to participate in the fifth European Universities Games 2021 in Belgrade. From July 14 to 27, 2021 the biggest sports competition in Europe will take place and along with the Olympic Games in Tokyo will mark the summer ahead of us.
In the 21 + 1 sports, more than 5,000 athletes will compete for places on the winning stage during 14 competition days across one of Europe’s most sporting capitals, which has hosted major international competitions such as the Universiade and the European and World Championships over the past two decades in the most popular sports such as basketball, handball, volleyball, water polo, futsal ..
All interested athletes – students can register for competitions in badminton, basketball, 3 x 3 basketball, beach handball, beach volleyball, chess, football, futsal, handball, judo, karate, kickboxing, orienteering, rowing, rugby 7s, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball and water polo.
EUG 2021 will also host competitors in para-table tennis, while sitting volleyball will make its debut in the competition as a demonstrative sport.
Sports competitions will be accompanied by the program of various types of workshops with a key event for the European academic community – the Rectors’ Conference hosted by the University of Belgrade.
So far, 1,129 teams from 399 universities and academic institutions from 41 countries have registered to participate in EUG 2021, which will make the event in Belgrade unforgettable in every sense.
